"What On Earth Is This?" — The Setting Spray That Genuinely Surprised Me This Year

▶ Watch the Short on YouTube

Every so often a product makes me say "what is this?!" out loud on camera — and this L'Oréal setting spray did exactly that. The year was not even over yet, but I could not wait to share it: it was easily my most surprising find in months of testing.

Why It Stunned Me

A good setting spray should do two quiet jobs: lock everything you have just applied in place, and melt away that dusty, powdery look so the skin reads fresh instead of "finished". This one did both immediately. The makeup gripped on, the surface looked like real skin, and the glow stayed believable rather than greasy.

How to Get the Most From a Setting Spray

Hold the bottle about an arm's length away and mist in an X and a T motion so the layer lands evenly. Then — this is the important part — let it dry on its own. No fanning, no touching. That undisturbed minute is where the magic happens.

One Honest Caveat

Availability differs by region — at the time of filming it was tricky to find through L'Oréal's makeup line in Japan, and aerosols are hard to ship. If you spot it where you live, consider it a sign.

Have you found a product this year that genuinely surprised you? Tell me about it!
