When Social Media Feels a Little Tiring: A Reminder That Your Individuality Is the Point
Today's post is a quieter one. I filmed this Short mid-makeup because something had been on my mind for a while: social media is full of inspiration, but it can quietly turn into a comparison game that leaves us feeling worse about our own faces.
While creating a soft, glowy everyday base — a tone-up sun cream topped with a light serum cushion foundation, in featherweight layers — I shared the thought that sits underneath everything I make.
Comparison Is Not a Beauty Routine
Feeds are highlight reels: perfect lighting, a filter or two, and the one angle that worked out of a hundred. If scrolling starts to drain you instead of inspiring you, that is a signal to step back for a moment — not a signal that your face needs fixing. Even as a professional makeup artist, I have those days too.
Individuality = Beauty
I share techniques because makeup truly can lift your self-esteem and solve real, everyday frustrations. But every technique exists to support what is already yours. Your colouring, your bone structure, the way your face moves when you laugh — that is the base every look is built on, and nobody else has it.
Enjoy makeup your way, at your own pace — being yourself is already beautiful.
